Compute key

A maintainer-created key with a dollar limit reserved from a project's donated compute balance.

maintainers compute keys

A compute key is created by a maintainer to spend one project's donated compute. The maintainer chooses a dollar limit, and opub reserves that limit from the shared project balance.

Compute keys make donated compute usable in local model tools without exposing opub's provider account. They also give the project a clear accounting boundary: spend can be tied back to the key when provider metadata matches.

A compute key reserves part of the project balance and links provider spend when possible.

Multiple active compute keys are allowed so maintainers can set up tools, rotate local credentials, and separate workflows. The one-time provider key secret is shown once and should live only in the maintainer's local configuration.
