Project balance

The dollar balance a project can use for maintainer-created compute keys and provider-reported token spend.

balance donations

A project balance is the dollar amount of donated compute available to one opub project. Donations add to the balance, and provider-reported spend events reduce it.

In opub, the project balance keeps funding understandable for donors and maintainers. Donors can see whether a project has compute available, and maintainers can create compute keys with dollar limits from that shared pool.

Donations add to the project balance, while compute keys and spend events draw from it.

Dollars are the accounting unit for the balance. Tokens are the usage unit providers report after maintainers use model tools, and that usage becomes spend events in the project ledger.
