Spend event
An append-only ledger entry for provider-reported model usage that changes a project's donated compute balance.
A spend event is an append-only record of provider-reported token spend. It changes the project's donated compute balance and keeps the project ledger tied to actual model usage.
Spend events matter because they make donated compute accountable without exposing maintainer work. Donors can see that the project balance changed, while prompts, responses, code, diffs, and local files stay outside opub.
When provider metadata connects the usage to a compute key, opub can show the spend as linked to that key. If only the project can be identified, the spend still belongs in the project ledger.
