Project ledger

The public project record of donations, balance changes, and provider-reported spend events.

projects balance

A project ledger is the public record of a project's donations, balance changes, and provider-reported spend events. It explains how donated compute entered the project and how model usage changed the balance.

In opub, the ledger makes donated compute accountable without making maintainer work public. Donors can see dollars added, token spend recorded, and the current project balance, while prompts, responses, local files, and code changes stay outside opub.

Donations and spend events update the project ledger and current balance.

Ledger entries are append-only accounting records. They should explain balance movement, not act as a work log or a transcript of maintainer activity.
